Come work with a team that cares for the patient and the team members. We are seeking a full-time RN Unit Supervisor for our 22-bed Pediatric Specialty Care Unit/ Peds Step Down Unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital/ Inova L.J Children's Hospital.
Inova L. J. Murphy Children's Hospital is an award-winning, full-service children’s hospital that offers the highest level of dedicated pediatric care in Northern Virginia. Our 22-bed Pediatric Specialty Care Unit (formerly known as PIMC unit) cares for intermediate level patients specializing in renal diagnosis and high flow. Nurses will also care for medical/surgical patients with all diagnoses requiring step-down care. Nurse ratios are 3:1 for IMC status patients and 4:1 for floor status patients.

The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor serves as a front-line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit. Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes. Serves as an engaged team member who is empowered to support Inova's "People Priority" by providing genuine acts of care, appreciation, recognition, coaching, mentoring and encouragement to all members of the healthcare team, in order to further enculturate Inova's care delivery model and results for all of Inova's strategic priorities.

RN Unit Supervisor Pediatric IMC Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of one-year Registered Nurse experience. 2 years+ Pediatric RN experience preferred. Charge Nurse experience preferred.
- Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) required. PALS strongly preferred.
Specialty certification (as required by unit) within one year from date of hire.
- Licensure: RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
- Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN)- must be within one year of completing their BSN.
- Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within the first 90 days.
